How to find the vet school

GoogleMaps is not always 100% accurate, but the address is 464 Bearsden Road, Glasgow, G61 1QH, Scotland and tel: +44 (0) 141 330 5700.

There are three entrances from the Anniesland side, one of which you can drive through. Two of them are pedestrian gates (McCall and Ilay) and the Ilay gate is locked on the weekends. Even though Google says you can drive through that gate continuing from Ilay Road, you can't. You will have to drive up Bearsden/Switchback Road and turn right into the main entrance, where the Small Animal Hospital is.

When you arrive, look for the McCall building. It has "School of Veterinary Medicine" written on the front of the building. In here you will find Reception, the lecture theater (where you will be for Fresher's week), the Teaching Unit, toilets, offices, a bridge to the Mary Stewart Building and the library, and more.

The Barn is where the vet school cafeteria is located. They are usually open from 8-2 (possibly earlier in the morning). There are vending machines there too.

If you walk down the road on the campus you will pass the Indoor Riding School on your left, the River Kelvin on your right, and Weipers Equine Hospital up on a hill on your left. The road will split when you come to the Small Animal Hospital. If you go left towards the hospital, you can leave the campus. If you go right, you will be on Garscube Estate which has great walking paths, sports fields, the Garscube gym (open to students and locals), and Wolfson Halls (campus accommodation). If you keep walking out, you will eventually hit Maryhill Road, the other exit from campus.
