How our group worked

We wanted to have a good mix of people in our group, partially because we believe that different backgrounds and cultures contribute to more wide-stretching and interesting ideas for the project, and partially for our own personal development. Different nationalities, genders, and ages helped us achieve this.

The first thing we did as a group was to meet, introduce ourselves, and look at the different questions. By discussion we narrowed them down, to finally agree on question 9 through a small vote. Once this was done, we delegated our tasks, which included researching the subject (journals and books), finding entrepreneurs that could act as examples, analysing previous presentations to find strengths and weaknesses, finding interview subjects etc.

After this initial meeting, we have had weekly meetings at the library where we have discussed ideas, problems and progress. Besides this we have also had continuous contact over Facebook, where we have shared good examples, and helped each other. Any problems we have encountered have been resolved by group reasoning. This has created synergy. Part by part our individual efforts have come together to create this presentation. We have got to know each other, and developed our team-working skills through planning the project, making decisions, scheduling and managing our time and solving problems.

Each team member has contributed with engaging information and examples. We hope you have enjoyed learning about what it takes to be an entrepreneur!

Overview

We will start by examining the born perspective, and give examples of entrepreneurs that might fit into that category. We will then continue to look at the made perspective, where we will not only give famous examples but also introduce the views of three entrepreneurs we interviewed.

Therefore, by the end of this presentation you should be able to:

  • understand the 'born' perspective on entrepreneurs
  • understand the 'made' perspective on entrepreneurs
  • form your own opinion on this topic
