Traveling to the UK:

You will require an entry clearance (student visa) before you travel to the UK. The entry clearance can be obtained from your country's British Embassy. See this website for infomation related to visas: https://www.gov.uk/student-visa
While not compulsory, it is strongly recommended that you undergo a medical checkup( including a chest x-ray) before you leave for the UK. You should carry the results of your medical test (including the x-ray) in your hand luggage as the information may be requested of you upon arrival in UK. (A copy of the medical examination form can be downloaded from the British Council website)
You are also advised to have the University acceptance letter and proof of funding on your person when you travel as well.
As condition(s) for entry into the UK may differ according to your nationality, you are advised to consult your local British office for a list of the requirements.

The quickest option to get to your accommodation is to take a taxi. There is usually no shortage of taxis waiting outside the airport so you should not encounter any problems in getting one. A Glasgow Taxi should cost about £25-£30.
Alternatively, you may wish to catch the direct bus which runs from Glasgow airport to Buchanan bus station located in the city centre. This is not recommended unless your accommodation is located in the City Centre as the Centre is a good distance from both the main university campus and the vet school campus.

Weather :

As you will probably be arriving at the end of summer /beginning of Autumn, you should be prepared for wet weather. Weather in Glasgow during this time is usually drizzly, but it will not be too cold, with temperatures at ranging from about 10-16C.
